B\u011b\u017en\u011b se v\u0161ak slovo \u201emagnetick\u00e9 materi\u00e1ly\u201c pou\u017e\u00edv\u00e1 pouze pro feromagnetick\u00e9 materi\u00e1ly (viz popis n\u00ed\u017ee). Materi\u00e1ly lze klasifikovat do n\u00e1sleduj\u00edc\u00edch kategori\u00ed na z\u00e1klad\u011b magnetick\u00fdch vlastnost\u00ed, kter\u00e9 vykazuj\u00ed. Dva nejb\u011b\u017en\u011bj\u0161\u00ed typy magnetismu jsou diamagnetismus a paramagnetismus, kter\u00e9 p\u0159edstavuj\u00ed v\u011bt\u0161inu prvk\u016f periodick\u00e9 tabulky p\u0159i pokojov\u00e9 teplot\u011b. Tyto prvky se obvykle ozna\u010duj\u00ed jako nemagnetick\u00e9, zat\u00edmco ty, kter\u00e9 se ozna\u010duj\u00ed jako magnetick\u00e9, jsou ve skute\u010dnosti klasifikov\u00e1ny jako feromagnetick\u00e9. Jedin\u00fd dal\u0161\u00ed typ magnetismu pozorovan\u00fd u \u010dist\u00fdch prvk\u016f p\u0159i pokojov\u00e9 teplot\u011b je antiferromagnetismus. Magnetick\u00e9 materi\u00e1ly lze tak\u00e9 klasifikovat jako ferimagnetick\u00e9, i kdy\u017e to nen\u00ed pozorov\u00e1no u \u017e\u00e1dn\u00e9ho \u010dist\u00e9ho prvku, ale lze je nal\u00e9zt pouze ve slou\u010denin\u00e1ch, jako jsou sm\u00ed\u0161en\u00e9 oxidy, zn\u00e1m\u00e9 jako ferity, od kter\u00fdch je odvozen n\u00e1zev ferimagnetismus. Jsou m\u00edrn\u011b zmagnetizov\u00e1ny, kdy\u017e jsou um\u00edst\u011bny do velmi siln\u00e9ho magnetick\u00e9ho pole a p\u016fsob\u00ed ve sm\u011bru opa\u010dn\u00e9m k aplikovan\u00e9mu magnetick\u00e9mu poli.<\/p>\n<p>U diamagnetick\u00fdch materi\u00e1l\u016f se dv\u011b relativn\u011b slab\u00e1 magnetick\u00e1 pole zp\u016fsoben\u00e1 orbit\u00e1ln\u00edm ob\u011bhem a axi\u00e1ln\u00ed rotac\u00ed elektron\u016f kolem j\u00e1dra nach\u00e1zej\u00ed v opa\u010dn\u00fdch sm\u011brech a navz\u00e1jem se ru\u0161\u00ed. Permanentn\u00ed magnetick\u00e9 dip\u00f3ly v nich chyb\u00ed. Diamagnetick\u00e9 materi\u00e1ly maj\u00ed velmi m\u00e1lo nebo \u017e\u00e1dn\u00e9 aplikace v elektrotechnice.<\/p>\n<p>V diamagnetick\u00e9m materi\u00e1lu nemaj\u00ed atomy \u017e\u00e1dn\u00fd \u010dist\u00fd magnetick\u00fd moment, kdy\u017e nen\u00ed aplikov\u00e1no \u017e\u00e1dn\u00e9 pole. Pod vlivem aplikovan\u00e9ho pole (H) se rotuj\u00edc\u00ed elektrony precesuj\u00ed a tento pohyb, kter\u00fd je typem elektrick\u00e9ho proudu, vytv\u00e1\u0159\u00ed magnetizaci (M) v opa\u010dn\u00e9m sm\u011bru k aplikovan\u00e9mu poli. V\u0161echny materi\u00e1ly maj\u00ed diamagnetick\u00fd efekt, nicm\u00e9n\u011b \u010dasto se st\u00e1v\u00e1, \u017ee diamagnetick\u00fd efekt je maskov\u00e1n v\u011bt\u0161\u00edm paramagnetick\u00fdm nebo feromagnetick\u00fdm \u010dlenem. Druh\u00e9 zahrnuj\u00ed materi\u00e1l s relativn\u00ed permeabilitou prakticky rovnou jedn\u00e9, zat\u00edmco prvn\u00ed maj\u00ed relativn\u00ed permeabilitu mnohon\u00e1sobn\u011b v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed ne\u017e jedna. Snadn\u00e1 magnetizace a demagnetizace je \u010din\u00ed vysoce vhodn\u00fdmi pro aplikace zahrnuj\u00edc\u00ed zm\u011bnu magnetick\u00e9ho toku jako v elektromagnety, elektromotory, gener\u00e1tory, transform\u00e1tory, induktory, telefonn\u00ed p\u0159ij\u00edma\u010de, rel\u00e9 atd. Jsou tak\u00e9 u\u017eite\u010dn\u00e9 pro magnetick\u00e9 st\u00edn\u011bn\u00ed. Jejich vlastnosti lze v\u00fdrazn\u011b vylep\u0161it pe\u010dlivou v\u00fdrobou a zah\u0159\u00edv\u00e1n\u00edm a pomal\u00fdm \u017e\u00edh\u00e1n\u00edm, aby se dos\u00e1hlo vysok\u00e9ho stupn\u011b krystalick\u00e9 \u010distoty.
